THE SWEATER THAT MAKES PEOPLE STOP AND ASK.

We chose the palette — rose-pink and soft red, warm gold, denim blue — because those are the colors already hanging in most closets: the dark-wash jeans, the camel pants, the plain white tee you wear underneath. They priced the Charlene at $182.95, and it became their bestseller this fall at that price. But June & Louise turn 25 this year, and the women behind the shop wanted to give something back — so every sweatshirt is going out at less than a third of that.

I ordered mine that evening. It arrived a few days later, folded in tissue in a kraft box with a June & Louise Charleston card inside. I have reached for it more than anything else in my closet since.
